1) Hotel Brand Gets Serious About Gamification 

As planners and hoteliers alike look for ways to create more interactive experiences for attendees, Marriott’s Renaissance Hotels is hoping to give those guests a reason to explore one of its properties - - without even actually checking in.

The brand has just launched a new online game called Discovery Doors that involves players picking up keys to unlock various doors. Behind each door, surprises such as the filming of a silent movie, and 80s breakdance battle and a personal serenade from CeeLo Green await. The game is built to encourage sharing, as players can collect more key by sharing and hashtagging on Twitter, inviting friends to sign up and checking into an actual Renaissance hotel via Foursquare. As all those keys adds up, players can win prizes that range from subscriptions to coffee-of-the-month clubs to a weeklong getaway at a Renaissance property.

2) Association Raises Food Allergy Awareness for Meeting Planners

3) Vegas Finishes Its Facelift

After two years and $20 million, the Las Vegas Convention Center is looking quite a bit different. From a freshly painted facade to the more than one million square feet of new red carpet to more efficient light fixtures in the central and north halls, the renovation is all part of an even bigger project: a $2.5 billion Global Business District.
