PCMA INVESTS IN MEMBER SERVICES

CHICAGO, IL, March 21, 2012 - The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced additions to its Member Services staff.  In an era with record membership numbers and growing vertical markets, PCMA is investing in new talent and resources to support its growing global membership.

Thomas G. Foley, CAE, joins PCMA as Senior Director, Member Services and Business Development. With the transformation of the department from Member Relations to Member Services, Foley will help increase emphasis on key sectors of PCMA membership as outlined in the organization's strategic plan and overall membership strategy.  This will include oversight of the membership recruitment and retention activities of the organization and driving greater benefits, business networking opportunities, and education to members and customers.

Foley will also work to develop new ways for the organization to build community, focus resources and alignment with chapter education, as well as develop and oversee sales of products such as Professional Meetings Management,® CASE® and CMP Online Prep®.

Prior to joining PCMA, Foley served as Director, Membership and Customer  Service with APICS, The Association for Operations Management, overseeing the organization's recruitment and retention activities, customer service center, as well as APICS' Fulfillment and Career Center activities. Prior to joining APICS, Foley spent 7 years with the Academy of General Dentistry in various roles which included overseeing call center operations as well as membership recruitment and retention activities.

Sheila Mires, CMP, joins PCMA as Director, Member Services.  Mires will be responsible for the development and strategic growth of PCMA's membership and chapters, and assist in the development of membership products and services.

As the Associate Director of Convention Services with Visit Baltimore for the past 7 years, Mires worked with meeting planners of all the major city-wide conventions and industry events and brings that real-world experience to PCMA. Prior to Visit Baltimore, Mires worked for Marriott International as Convention Services Manager at Crystal Gateway, Crystal City, VA.

Mires also has been an active member of the Chesapeake Chapter of PCMA since 2006 which included a 2 year term as President from 2009-2011.

Foley and Mires will report to Jason Paganessi, CAE, Vice President, Business Innovation.  Paganessi joined PCMA last summer to lead the association's long-term business strategy and technology endeavors.

Paganessi is a PCMA boomerang, with previous organization tenure, 2000-2004, overseeing the organization's technology interests. Prior to rejoining PCMA he served as Director of Information Technology at the Academy for General Dentistry.
